Internationally recognized specialist in the ancient arts of Africa and Oceania, and trained as an art historian, Nicolas Rolland is a member of the Compagnie Nationale des Experts (CNE). Nicolas Rolland has directed and co-authored several reference works that have received various awards: Surrealism, Zones of Contact (HR Editions, 2024) Galerie Pigalle: Africa, Oceania. 1930. A Mythical Exhibition (HR Editions / Somogy, winner of the PILAT Prize 2018 and the FILAF Prize 2018) Africa, in the Shadow of the Gods (Somogy Editions, 2017, winner of the PILAT Prize 2017) As an expert, Nicolas Rolland assists auctioneers, institutions, and private individuals in the authentication and appraisal of their artworks. As an art dealer, Nicolas Rolland offers his clients (collectors and museums) high-quality works, rigorously selected for their aesthetic value, age, and provenance. Nicolas Rolland also works as an exhibition curator and scientific advisor. In this capacity, he designed the museography and scenography of the Musée Spiritain des Arts Africains (Musaa), in partnership with the NeM architectes agency.
